Christmas Shoebox Gift Drive

Christmas Shoebox Gift Drive

Dear Parents & Friends,

Rosemary Hall Montessori wishes one and all a Very Happy Christmas and Blessed New Year!

As we end the year 2010 and herald in the new one, we hope we might all take some time to help the less fortunate among us. We are organizing a simple Christmas Shoebox Donation Gift Project from November 29 until we close for the holidays on Dec 15. Simply pack your Christmas Gift for a Child in a shoebox (or similar size box), and bring it to the School between 8:30 AM and 6PM, any day from Monday to Friday.

We are located at 6 Raffles Boulevard, #03-115 Marina Square.

Christmas Shoebox

The Christmas Shoebox Project is popular in the US and UK, where every year, little gifts that are wrapped up by the donor in shoeboxes, and then distributed by the Organizer to less fortunate families. Rosemary Hall is working again in conjunction with Barker Road Methodist Church (BRMC) this year to help children from poor families in Singapore. BRMC conducts this drive every Christmas in their own compound (they call it the “White Gift” project)… and will collect our gifts from us at the School, and bring them to low-income families throughout Singapore over the Christmas week.

How to Pack Your Shoebox

  • Find an empty shoebox. You don't have to wrap it, but it would be a nice festive touch, just make sure you wrap the shoebox lid separately so that the contents can be checked at the school for non-approved items
  • Decide whether your gift will be for a boy or girl, and then choose an age category – 2-6 Years, 7-14 Years.
  • Attach a label to the top of the shoebox and write down the age group and if it's for a boy or girl.
  • Fill your shoebox with things such as books, school supplies, T-shirts, hygiene items (like a toothbrush, toothpaste, soap), or toys (dolls, balls, small cars, stuffed animals).
  • Add a personal note if you wish and a photo of yourself so the child who receives your shoebox will know who it's from.
  • Once you've filled your shoebox, drop it off at Rosemary Hall Kindergarten Office at 03-115 Marina Square Opposite Times the Bookshop before Dec 15.
PLEASE DO NOT:
  • Please do not include anything that's very used, or damaged, or perishable (like fruit or chocolates).
  • Please do not include aerosal cans, out-of-date candy, medications or vitamins, or breakable items like glass things.
